What is BookTok? BookTok is a hashtag often used on TikTok by users that love to talk about books. This square will lead to books that are on trend, popular and being discussed a lot online. You don't have to use TikTok to find these trendy titles though. You can also search "BookTube" on YouTube or "Bookstagram" on Instagram. Bookstores have also been putting many of these books on display tables in store.
Some tips for searching for a BookTok pick:
1. search #booktok AND your interest level - for example 5th-6th grade should look for #BookTok and #middlegrade
2. BookTokkers that are also librarians or booksellers have some of the best and most unique suggestions!
3. Also learn more about their suggested books before purchasing - check reading levels and content warnings.
